The most basic mission of Derby Day is to serve the community. Since the birth of our Fraternity, Sigma Chi's have endeavored to give back to the world. Because Derby Days affords each chapter the unique opportunity to positively impact the community, it is imperative that the actions of each brother during Derby Days reflect our true goals. Derby Days is a week full of events dedicated to raising money for the the Hunstman Cancer Institute. In 2015, the Huntsman Cancer Institute was named Sigma Chi's preferred charity. Sigma Chi has pledged 10 million dollars to the Huntsman Cancer Institute in the fight against cancer.
